STRATEGIC PLAN

OUR MISSION
Promote the records and information management (RIM) field.
OUR VISION
- Our Chapter membership is diverse and comprised of: records and information managers; information services professionals; RIM vendors; government entities; schools; banks; finance, insurance, medical, and legal professionals; and small business people.
- Our profession is recognized and valued in Montana.
- We are involved in community Records and Information Management projects.
- Our members know and understand what the chapter is involved in.
- Our members are active, involved, and highly trained, and have a commitment to ongoing education.
- The Chapter has sufficient revenue to provide training opportunities for members.
OUR GOALS
- Generate sufficient revenue to support chapter activities.
- Set and track budget for the annual conference, educational workshops, and Board of Director meetings.
- Explore options other than CDs for placement of a portion of the Chapter's funds.
- Provide records management education for Chapter members and the business community.
- Develop a list of Chapter "specialists," a RIM resource list in the following areas:
- Microfilm
- Document storage
- Disaster Planning/Vital Records
- Retention
- Imaging
- Archives/preservation
- File Maintenance
- Record Centers
- Electronic Records
- Email
- Promote the Big Sky Chapter.
- Create a promotional piece outlining Chapter programs and send to membership and to vertical market targets.
- Plan events or programs during National Records and Information
Management Month (April).
- Target at least two conventions other than our Chapter's annual conference to promote ARMA. Get the ARMA convention display booth and display at such conferences as the Montana League of Cities and Towns, Montana Association of Clerk & Recorders, Clerk of District Court, and State Bar conventions.
- Increase Membership in the Chapter.
- Increase Chapter membership by 10% .
- Focus our vertical marketing this year on schools, City and County Clerks, Notaries Public, MACO, Clerks of District Courts, and the Montana Hospital Association.
- Tap into association/organization mailings as mechanism for getting out information about our workshops, conferences, and organization.
- Follow-up with identified verticals.
- Review strategic plan at the end of each Chapter year.
- Measure progress against goals set.
- Suggest updates for next Chapter year.
